I've been experiencing a rather weird problem lately and was wondering if anyone could advise. It would appear that Telkom is having a problem at the exchange here in Nelspruit's CBD whereby all businesses in the area's internet goes down for a couple of hours. The lines all sync, but its as if no internet traffic goes through. When calling Telkom they say its my ISP, but my ISP says it Telkom.

I've confirmed with other businesses in the area, and they all appear to go down as well. They all use various ISPs.

If anyone can suggest who I can speak to, that would be great. I've tried logging calls, but by the time someone attends to the call, the issue has resolved itself. This has been happening about once to twice a week now for the past two months.

I have a very similar problem in Bryanston, except its almost permanent.

Line syncs fine, but no traffic goes through, tried various isp's etc.

Gonna ram my car into the telkom box any day now!!!

Hi There,
If there is no traffic through different ISP's then the problem has to lie with the line provider.
You will have to log a fault and ask them to send a technician out so that they can see that with different ISP accounts the connectivity is there but the traffic is not.
You have asked them to reset the port I trust?

Regards

Tim

Okay so when this problem occurs and I call Telkom, they confirm that there is indeed a problem with the central exchange and that they can see no traffic is going through at all.

I'm getting a bit frustrated with Telkom as it seems they don't want to do anything about the issue. This problem is happening more more and every time you log the fault, the call is just closed as resolved.
