Hi,

i bought a new pc about 3 months back and recently it's been giving me the BSOD errors (yes i know there a whole thread about this but i want specific info please),

the thing is i just reinstalled windows about a month back and thats when the errors started happening, now the info i got from the BSOD thread tells me that it could be my ram thats gone a little wobbly or a hdd.

i don't think it's my ram so how do i know what hdd is giving the problem ?

is it possible for the other slave hdd's to give this error (they all have windows installed, they were all primary at one stage and i was too lazy to delete\format the drive :o )

how would i know which hdd is faulty if at all ?

i hope that makes sense and i didn't show too much of my ignorance when it comes to pc's.

TIA

\my specs are:

q8200 quad
G31 mobo
about 5 hdd (ranging in sizes)
9500gt msi gfx
2.5 gb ram (1* 2gb, 1 *512mb)
450w psu

If Windows is tells you it's the RAM, why don't you start looking at that?
Do a memtest on the current RAM and some other RAM. If they're both fine, then look into the PSU. Could you just be a voltage level not getting up there. Try and raise RAM voltage slightly.
If neither RAM nor PSU fix the issue, then look at motherboard and HDD or run it all without extra peripherals (GPU, etc).

guess i'll try that then, the ram is basically new and so is the psu (3 months old)

i'll run the mem test tonight but how would i check the psu ?
