Huawei B660
10 gig 8ta Telkom package
This is 8ta Telkom not 8ta MTN
When one is used to 3 to 7 mbps down 2.5 mbps up on Cellc this is very disapointing
Connected to the Farmall tower (8ta telkom cell) near the lion park Lanseria @ a client and downloaded @ 6-7 mbps
I hope 8ta Telkom wil be able to rectify the slower towers & links or its back to Cellc

regards hopeful

Since the 8ta rep isn't giving answers, according to the call center they have been having problems with the internet for the past week or so and are still having problems. I couldn't get any more information out of them as to what the "internet problems" are or exactly when they will be resolved. This may explain the issues you have been experiencing.

Thanks Methias for the update, i will post if i hear anything, i think the 8ta rep is being flooded with these sorts of messages, Hellopeter.com is also busy with complaints, 5 today so far.....

Things have gotten even worse for me today, and I just don't buy "internet problems", if they're blaming SAT3 or SeaCom because local is just as bad!

I purchased a 11dbi high Gain directional Antenna today, got home installed it, signal is now up 40% to 65% and my download and ping speeds have improved drastically, still not happy but its holding the connection. And i am not even sure if i have directed the antenna the proper location.

Just a thought....

That just wont do, it used to work quite fine, now suddenly I must buy an antenna?

I couldn't agree more with you on this but i was at a point where i thought i was going to have a nervous breakdown, i rely extensively on my internet being up and usable, my work i do requires this.

It had helped me but like i said, my blood pressure was insanely high:D

I live in Randburg and the weird thing is eventhough I get >90% signal, the download speeds are still very bad, constant timeouts and disconnections, so maybe just hold on a bit before buying an antenna.
