Problems loading certain websites with iBurst

Nothing has been changed. Is this happening to anyone else?

Ok, I have been quiet in this thread but that doesn't mean this has been fixed (I use iburst at home, adsl at work). I tend to visit the sites I mentioned above at home and tonight, I am really pissed off that I can't reach them and that this has been happening for more than a week.

I have been using opendns servers for a long time now.

Is this perhaps related to the announcement that iburst now "works with opendns"? I have a hunch that it may be.

Please, iBurst, can you please investigate and report back here.

Regards,
Nick

I can't access my domains I host at hetzner ... I can access them on ADSL... I can access other domains at Hetzner though...

Example:

www.calmer.co.za

I can't access my domains I host at hetzner ... I can access them on ADSL...
I also can't reach that site via my iBurst:
Code:
HTTP/1.0 504 Gateway Time-out
ERR_CONNECT_FAIL 110
MISS from neocache-fe01.iburst.co.za

But I can reach via other connections. Looks like an issue with the upstream on that cache.

So it's been over a month now that I've been having the issue described in the first post. No resolution.

Thanks for absolutely goddamned ****ing nothing, iBurst. Enjoy your full page of very negative publicity in the next issue of SACM. Look for the article titled "THE ONE ABOUT iBURST'S RUBBISH TECH SUPPORT".

Seems to be an intermittent problem for me. There are times when I cannot go to certain sites for days on end. Examples below:

The Times
Pinnacle
ZDNet

and a host of others. Easily accessible through a proxy though.

Looks like my bullying tactics in SACM worked. I received a most solicitous phone call from iBurst's PR person late yesterday afternoon, and the issue was resolved within the hour.

So I was unable to browse a bunch of websites for over two months, simply because one tech support guy decided it wasn't their problem.

Oh well. I was able to watch Kotaku's live blogging from E3. So I'm happy again.

Nice one :)

Glad your site is working again but looks like they have still taken a shortcut and ONLY fixed your site (kotaku)

The other sites with the same problems like collegehumour and break.com is still not working. Are you in the position perhaps to get these sites working again?

Very shady that they just fix one site and not the root of the problem.

Hi guys

Should there be any sites having loading issues today please SMS me the URL.

I am presenting a course today but will attend to all SMS's.

Thank you

I spoke to Tim again this morning, and informed him of other problem sites. He explained that all these sites are not caching properly locally due to some problem in the headers, hence the infuriating load times. If they don't know which sites are doing this, they'll not know to fix them.

Thanks Saun, I shall do so.

Thanks Azimuth, but I tried twice to email helpdesk and use the web-form to report this problem but received no feedback. I would have liked to phone but not always home where the iburst is during the day.

Thanks
Nick

Hi all.

Now that the hardware failure is over are the websites loading as per normal?

Please let me know.

Thank you

Hi Shaun,

Thanks for the phone call earlier. Was just about to SMS you again.

For me, the site collegehumour.com and break.com has not changed, exactly the same :(

Kotaku works fine for me where before it was also a problem.

Thanks
Nick

Nick, have you tried changing your DNS server addresses as I'm able to access both sites without a prob.

Hi Nick.

How's it looking now?

Hi Saun,

Excuse the late reply, I was not at home to test yesterday in the day.

But I tested last nite and nope, still the same on my side. :(

I even changed my DNS from:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

to:
208.67.222.222
196.30.31.193

Is there anything I can do on my side? Or is it all iburst's side?

Regards,
Nick

I reckon it could be a prob on your side.

Hi all.

Please send me the URLs of site you are having an issue loading.

SMS would be quicker.

Thank you
