When I play Crysis Warhead and I think it also happened in Far Cry 2(though less often) but as I walk around I can see plants and rocks being rendered in front of me. Dont really know how to explain it but if I move forward a plant/rock/gun/body/etc.etc.etc. appears out of nowhere.

Im pretty sure my harddrive is failing... I did some freeware test and it told me the copy speeds were SLOW though everything else was fine (it does various read write tests)

Maybe I should ignore it because its Crysis... but I cant

Stats:
Gigabyte 4850
WD500 gig hdd
Windows 7 Pro 32 bit
2 gig DDR2 800
Cooler Master 550W... extreme-_-
and for this particular problem its important to note im using a 17 inch screen.

No it's the game. Do a google search and you'll find a fix. I've forgotten what is now :o

I think the copy of the game... it's faulty..

Maybe a patch was there for a reason...

Anyway, is that game an original?

(anyway, phyco is pretty funny, isn't he?)

awesome, thanks so long as the PC isn't dying on me.

It sounds like a field of view issue... What settings are you playing it on? Is this a relatively new problem or was it always there? There are a thousand custom configs for Crysis so you'll have to do a bit of GIYF'ing.

then it's got nothing to do with a patch or anytihng..

You can either patch it or mess around in the configs yourself. Every single thing in Crysis can be modified if you know how to use the configs properly.

Try this

In your main Warhead folder (Should be something like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis WARHEAD") make a new text file and name it System.cfg (It must be a cfg file, make sure it isn't a txt file.) and in that file put in the following:

con_restricted=0
e_detail_materials_view_dist_xy=4096
e_detail_materials_view_dist_z=128
e_view_dist_ratio=60
e_view_dist_ratio_detail=50
e_view_dist_ratio_vegetation=65

Then just start up Warhead and you're done! (Note: Also works in Crysis.)

Or you can turn up the object detail settings, but doing this will give you a farther view distance then any in-game settings.

Had the same thing. The Crysis engine only loads&renders what thing that fall into your FOV. Sometimes the algorithm screws up & doesn't predict what you'll see next well enough to load it.

I don't think decreasing the FOV will help, but do try nonetheless...its a solid suggestion. Perhaps increasing viewing distance would help...not sure whether Crysis settings have that. I recall getting the same thing while running straight at a group of enemies.

The game was full of bugs imo. Like the tranq gun has a cooldown timer...which can be reset by switching away from tranq settings & back effectively allowing you to shoot 3x as fast as the cooldown timer should permit. Probably used the tranq darts more than any other gun: Unlimited ammo, always on target 100%, not range limitation & guaranteed effect on headshot.
