Problems since yesterday's outage

iBurst Incident Report

Date: 12/07/07
Incident: Core equipment failure
Estimated Resolution: 12/07/07
Impact: All iBurst subscribers, except Cape Town
Priority: CRITICAL
Status: RESOLVED
Resolution: Temporary measures in effect, subscribers required to reconnect temporarily for interim settings.

My ballsack issues have been resolved.

I have been unable to browse since last night, local and international!

There's nothing worse than your day starting off with **** broadband!

Don’t frustrate yourself by calling the iBurst call centre, most of the guys answering the phones have never had the opportunity to use a computer and seem to be poorly informed of any iBurst network related issues.

You will have more luck posing your questions to the beggar / bergie on the street corner!

Just called them for the third time, tried the usual test this and that. Told him to stop the BS. Admitted they have a problem with international. Left details on the area, but they don't know how long it will take. Nothing like paying R599 a month for a phoneline.

International browsing still at a snail's pace (or dial-up's pace?) here in Auckland Park area.

Think everyone is having trouble since yesterday, my works DSL is actually (can you believe it) worse than iburst today :(

Subject: RE: International timeouts increasing...

Good Morning Michael,

Thanks for the constant feedback, we really do appreciate it as it helps us maintain the network at an optimal level. The reason for the international timeouts is that one of our upstream providers has been having denial of service attacks on their networks almost every day this week. We did receive notification this morning that it has been resolved.

Kind regards

Well, amazingly for a resolved "international" issue, some sites (Google, gmail, etc.) work great, while others (Facebook, for example) are limited to a page title.

I cannot login to facebook / rapidshare since last night.

The server at rs24cg2.rapidshare.com is taking too long to respond.

The Iburst site is fine, strangely enough and reports my bandwidth down being 715 kbps, Wonderboom Tower

Most of the international sites I use struggle to even get a page title aswell.

Especially facebook....

When will this get resolved!!!! :(

Thank goodness I have a HDSPA phone...
