Hi All

Need some advice here. I've got a Nokia E51 and I've been using it to connect to the internet for a while now, but recently I've been having problems.

I re-installed Windows at the beginning of the month. Installed Nokia PC Suite and got all my Windows updates without any issues. Everything insalled fine ( Programs, Games the lot), but this last week when I try and download something more than 5MB, my connection drops.

The phone is still connected to the PC and even PC Suite's One Touch Access says that I'm connected. But when I check my network connections, Nokia E51 Modem says that I'm connected to Local only.

I've re-installed Nokia PC Suite, got the latest version this time, but I still have the same issues. Used a different cable, in different USB ports, to connect the phone to the PC, no change.

Weird thing is I can browse no problems, for hours even, but if I try and download a file the constant connection needed just drops. Hell, I had to re-connect five times just to download the latest Windows updates, but have been browsing the internet for the last hour without any disconnects.

WTH?

EDIT
Found another weird thing. If I open more than one page at the same time I also lose my connection. Could the ammount of data I'm trying to obtain be causing my disconnects?

Try using VMC 9.3 instead of Nokia PC Suite - VMC 9.3 should support your Nokia E51, considering your plight and that you're probably cap-challenged then get it on a CD from a Vodashop instead of downloading it.

Also, I recommend that you use a [searchforum]download manager[/searchforum] and a browser other than Intranet Exploder if you aren't already doing so.

I'll give VMC 9.3 a try today, thanks ic. I'm using Opera ATM and was trying to use FlashGet to download. Things are actually worse now then what it was. Before I was able to check out YouTube videos, but when I tried yesterday my connection drops when I try. :(

I'll try unstalling all the drivers and programs today and re-install everything. Hopefully that will help me out.
