problems with billion 7300g

I cant seem to connect with my new router i previously (well using right now) d link with 2 boxes. I went and got a billion 7300g and the ppp light will not come on and it says that it cannot connect to the remote sever what am i doing wrong?

It's ages since I configured a router, but check the Encapsulation, Multiplexing, and Virtual Circuit settings off this Mweb guide:

( Obviously not the rest LOL!. Also check your username/password, again obviously. )

Best way to resolve this is to put the router in bridge mode (Pure Bridge) then make the PPP connection via windows. It will give you a error response code post it here.

So you say the D-link connects but not the Billion?

yeah and its because billion is not an optus registered modem..

this can be locked now fixed the problem just had to follow the guide on the website that rwensori recommended.

What were they? And isn't the default 8/35 on all Billions?

the encap was on 1483 bridge or something which i put on ppp and the other two setting were on 0/35
