Hi,

I'm running into a couple of problems that I'm coming up as a total blank on how to fix.

Firstly, although the router is syncing at 4MB, and Telkom have said that there's nothing wrong with the line, I am consistently getting download speeds of between 0.7MB/s and 0.9MB/s when speedtesting. Previously it had been consistently at around 3.6MB/s.

Secondly, Xbox Live has stopped working properly. I'm mostly unable to sign in, but on the few occasions I can, it has limited service and cannot download patches or listen to voice messages or really do anything besides see who is online. Testing the connection shows that while the Xbox is able to connect to the Internet but not Xbox Live. It seems like it is a ports problem, but I have all my settings on my side sorted out, and Telkom have tried resetting the ports without it having any effect on my side.

I'm now really not sure what my next option is. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It seems like your exchange is congested give it a few days. Your the 4th person complain about slow speeds in wynberg.

Your exchange seems to be congested. Give out a few days, yore not yhe only one complaining about the wynberg exchange

OK - but this has been going on for near to a month without anything getting resolved.

Do a tracert. If the hop after the router has a high latency while you're not busy downloading anything your exchange is most likely congested.

Tracing route to www.telkom.co.za [196.43.22.222]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 48 ms 50 ms 40 ms dsldevice.lan [192.168.10.1]
2 2161 ms 1332 ms 1187 ms dsl-145-248-01.telkomadsl.co.za [41.145.248.1]
3 65 ms 745 ms 1505 ms 196.43.39.166
4 1700 ms 1208 ms 1293 ms rrba-ip-bssr-1-ge-2-48.telkom-ipnet.co.za [196.43.23.6]
5 1392 ms 1633 ms 1814 ms nbsc-ip-bssr-1-atm-5-0-0-1.telkom-ipnet.co.za [196.43.23.30]
6 1957 ms 1924 ms 546 ms nbsc-ip-rcache-1-vif2.telkom-ipnet.co.za [196.43.22.222]

Trace complete.

So I guess this means congestion.
