So if I have any sort of download going whether I'm capped or not, MSN will either just not connect or if I'm on MSN then all my messages will have an error. Obviously if I stop my download then MSN will work.

Is there a way to tell windows to prioritize my bandwidth so that MSN has enough to send/receive?

Thanks in advance

Atm it's just my PS3 downloading and MSN can log on but if I try send a message I just get "Message cannot be sent"

Iburst...so 1 mbps throttled to 64kbps atm, but even when I wasn't throttled I was having similiar issues.

S1ght,
Are you connected via a router?

Yup am using a Billion VoIP Router but have been for over 2 years and this problem has only started in the last month or 2. Am also having problems loading this 1 site, www.lockerz.com. I can load the login page but if I try to login then I get redirected back to the login page but has no problems on a friends adsl line.

I assume you are referring to a torrent download. ;) iBurst's packet shaping system uses some rather interesting methods to control the download speed. This includes sending random TCP-RST commands to your router to kill connections on uncommon ports. These uncommon ports include most of the chat protocols and you will have huge numbers of disconnections and errors due to this supposed 'traffic shaping'

It's an any download ;) Like at the moment, I have a youtube video loading in the background now and msn and now just disconnected again. If I'm lucky it'll reconnect and if I try send a message I get "The following message could not be delivered to all recipients:". Last night my PS3 was downloading a video from PSN and same issue with MSN. I guess all I can do is PM Ronald my UTID and see :) The only chat program that actually works through all of this is mxit, both Gtalk and MSN don't connect sigh :p
