Problems with MTN GPRS

Hi MTNbroadband. I have a bit of a prob;

I use ws_ftp to upload data to a server containing a website that I maintain (usually from a telkom line). Now however, I need to upload using mtn. Unfortunately, I am unable to upload to the server using ftp on mtn's network with the gprs/edge connection.

Can anyone, including MTNBB, provide a possible reason?

Good day,

Is anyone still having any problems with GPRS? if you are please let me know.

Thanks MTN DD

I've just started experiencing these problems. I use an upgraded E620 Datacard with a prepaid sim. With 2GB's of data to use, I find it rather irritating that I can't download large files. Everytime I try to download a huge file, MTN seems to choke my line. My downloads stall and then I've got to wait for 2mins. Then if fires up again and about less than a minute later, I get throttled AGAIN!?! Why is that? I'm on full HSPDA while this is happening. When I use my contract sim, it's a different story. No hassles. I've phoned in to Data support before, and they gave me a long sodded story that MTN doesn't choke the lines bla bla bla bla.

I'm sick of this. I want to use my 3G without being throttled. MTNDude, comments?!

I've also done the disconnect/reconnect thing. Getting gatvol! I've been a loyal MTN customer for more than 16 years.... but I'm feeling the need to change to another service provider.....

Last night was the first time in over 3 weeks that I pulled down a 50 meg file (update) streamed it in one go. And the 10meg streaming limit that usually goes dead, was working (Youtube) Hmm lets see.

Seems like MTN has no comment. Which must mean something is wrong that they are aware of, but won't admit to. Lovely!

I read on another thread they are not deducting the data bundles correctly either. I have about 3 bundles that have different expiry dates. And I also noticed they deduct my bandwidth from the latest bundle that I added. How the hell does THAT work??? MTN??? WTF!!!????
