Problems with MTN network.

I'm having great problems with MTN network.

1) I alway need to dial more than once to get a phone call going.
2) I only get voicmail if someone is trying to get hold of me. 40% of the time.
3) I someone is tried to phone me I get voice mail a couple of hours later.
4) If someone phones me while talking,losing connection.
5) If I try to recover any voicemail from dialing 100 I also have to dial more than once to get a connection.
6) When trying to dial other networks you get funny sound when you dont get connected.
7) I also look at network status on phone, all looks ok.Dont have any problems like network not available.

I also can see it with the billing, I get charged when I dont get connected.
0 sec call but get hammered 66 sent.

This is happing to us with 4 diffrent phones. We are all on MTN network.
I have e-mailed MTN on these issues, they claim it is not network related.
They say that I have to report this to Nashua or MTN SP??.

One phone is through NasuaMobile the others are at MTM SP.

I live in Springs area.I get these problems at work and Dersley Park home.

Any suggestion.

Also been having problems with MTN for the past 8+ months. Contract up for renewal in December. Will be porting to Vodacom if I don't see a drastic improvement.

Had similar problems. Last weekend I called two of my friends both on MTN and in the same location. Both calls went to voicemail. I reached them an hour later and they said both their phones were on.

Last night I tried to dial 555 on my prepaid sim. I had to try several times to avoid getting network busy.

The problems come and go. I hasn't bothered me so much yet that I have reported it though.

I have been getting the exact same problems in the woodmead and sandton areas.
have to dial a few times to get connected. Didnt know about the billing issues but that IS worrying!

Hi all,
It seem I'm not the only with problems.

Who from the forum is in close connection with MTN, to put this problem forward.
Its frustrating that you cant use your mobile for its intention what it is bought for.

The millions MTN is making invest some of the monies and get the infrastructure to what is suppose to be.

Yeah im in Cape Town and have non stop MTN problems... my GPRS/3G never works at all from 7 to about 11pm... this morning at about 7 it wasnt working either, till about 10am it started again... i get sms's late... my friend sms'd me on thursday nite at 7pm i got it friday morning at 3am.. not the 1st time it's happened.
MTN used to be top quality, not anymore

Vodacom is the same k@k! Customer care keep on blaming my current handset. (N95 8GB) - doesn't make sense. There is just too many people on their both networks, CellC and Virgin need to start offering the same offerings that Vodacom and MTN have available so traffic can spread over the 4 networks...
