Problems with returning product to takealot

Hi all. Been trying to return a product to takealot but it keeps getting rejected. The product is in it's original packaging, it is unused, clean and still within its return time but it keeps getting rejected. Takealot keeps telling me to refer to the email communication but nothing is actually sent to me and no one responds to the tickets logged. Tried calling their call centre and it has music that plays through and eventually just goes dead quiet. Anyone have any advice on how to resolve this issue as takealot is unresponsive.

The system works really well when it works, but when it doesn't work you get stuck in a loop.

See if you can reach them on Social Media.

It should be illegal in a 3rd world country for a company not being able to be reached via a phone call.

Also, you won't get anywhere on a weekend.

If you have the email, you can try your province office of the consumer protector. You can also try facebook.

You'll have to visit one of their "fulfillment centres". In Cape Town its just past Montague Gardens. Expect a long queue, although you won't wait long

Before they had pickup points, I went there. The staff are quite good. Social media is too cumbersome

Agreed. I will try social media, hopefully it helps. Been trying to return this product for 3 weeks now and have reached out to them multiple times with no luck.

Thinking of logging an issue with the ombudsman now. Should resolve the issue I hope.
