I have had quite puzzling problems setting up the wireless router to work with the new Samsung Nc10 I have just acquired. Firstly my home network comprises of the Telkom Marconi Prem combo router , desktop PC, HP NC6000 laptop and now the NC10.

When setting up WPA encrytion the NC10 would usually connect to router and however I could only access locally hosted sites eg ABSA, Telkom, NEWS24, Standardbank. I could not connect to google, cnn , bbcworld etc , yet my other laptop would connect flawlessly to all sites on the same wireless network! I eventually updated driver on NC10 . made no diff. Then I resorted to WEP encryption and it generally works 60% of the time - again local sites OK , however foreign sites were generally slow but not always so. Sometimes data through put would just stop for several 10's of seconds.

When looking at the data retries ( SAMSUNG provides an app for this ) The number of retries is around 20% which does not sound too bad.

What do I do now - get a new Router?

What about the wifi network settings on both the laptop and netbook, are they the same?

Yes , settings the same- went into all of that very carefully.
Was now thinking of checking performance at a public WIFI site - are there any in the Southern Suburbs?
