I have beenhaving problems with Telkom as my ISP for dialup for about 6 montths now.

I just keep on being disconnected from th einternet.

TelkomInternet who is my ISP states that I have a poor line.

Telkom line management has virtually rebuilt th eline to my house.

But today I was discoinnected 3 times already.

To who, and how, do I escalate my problem.

They just dont seemto have an answer. But 6 months ago I could stay online for up to 58 hours over weekends.

Now 2 hours is long.

I have a P4 running XPPro SP2. My modem is a duxbury external modem connected to comm1.

Modem has been checked by Duxbury and is ok. PC has been checked and found problem free. No viruses or adaware or spyware on PC.

Once upon a time of many frustrations, I too had ISDN[2a] lines, I eventually realised that some problems are not worth trying to fix and switched to a wireless broadband service and when that too gave me grief, I switched to ADSL which has lately been giving me hell whenever the atmosphere threatens to precipitate, which is why I have 3G as a backup to ADSL...

Trade Journal for Telecoms Professionals: http://www.ospmag.com/
has an article on this problem of water getting into the telephone lines.

Their solution is to pump a type of silicon into the lines or to
replace the cables. Exposed wires will eventually have water leaking into the Aerial self-supporting cable.

Telkom disconnecting when reaching the R7 limit (or how much is it now) again...

I really think people should bring a class action suit against them.
