Hello. I have recently noticed that my cap has suddenly become consumed by processes on my pc. I scanned for viri/spyware and found nothing. I am using a program called NetBalancer, and the processes at the top of this list (consuming the most cap) are:

*System-download: 321MB & upload: 110MB

*Service Traffic-download: 56MB & upload: 39MB

*services.exe-download: 191MB & upload: 12MB

*svhost.exe-download: 73MB & upload: 6MB

Now I am not sure what these processes are used for and how to control their consumption.

you've got a service running that responsible for the downloads

what version of windows are you running, how long have you had the problem, did you install any new software around the same time?

What you can try is to go Start > Run > msconfig

Select the "Startup" tab and clear all the selections. Then select the "Services" tab and click on the box that says "Hide All Microsoft Services" and check which services are left that you can disable without incapacitating your system.

From there you can monitor your system for bandwidth usage, and gradually enable the service and startup items until you identify the offending process.
