Hey guys,
Don't want to step on any toes here, so just curious - are there any laws that would prevent me comparing my products directly with a competitor?

something like a table comparison chart:

Code:
                 | Product A | Product B | Product C |
                 | Brand A | Brand B | Brand C |
-----------------|-----------|-----------|-----------|
Characteristic A | 10 | 9 | 5 |
Characteristic B | 20 | 10 | 15 |
Characteristic C | 30 | 30 | 20 |

It is illegal if you use a comparison in advertising where you directly name your competitor or their product(s), you may however refer to your competitor as "our biggest competitor" or some such.

If you do this for pricing comparisons internally, be carefull of the competition commision as it might be viewed as price fixing.

You may however use a chart like the one you indicate as internal training documents.

As always, correct me if I am wrong.

What about politics? Is it illegal for one to compare to others?
