Hi fellow mybb photographers.

Just a little help.

I do photography as a hobby but now I have been asked by my company to take product photo for their catalogue.

My question is should I go with a light tent 150*150*150 cm and some small lights (x2) or use umbrella’s with flashes on a white back ground.

The products are car parts like clutch plate, brakes pads, water pumps etc.

Any suggestions.

I don’t have any continuous lighting and only have one umbrella and one flash.

Definitely not an expert but light tent should give better results I would imagine ... infinite curve white background will still give shadows if your lighting isn't perfect.

You can also light your tent with a couple of cheap lamps using CCFL globes ... just make sure they are as white as possible otherwise you might get a yellow tint (cool white 2700k should do the trick)
