It sounds more like they agreed to consensual sex for material goods (money/food/clothing/whatever) but that they later decided to try nail him (excuse the pun) on rape charges.
Again, this doesn't sound like rape at all.

He/she is assuming that they agreed to exchange sex for what he did for them. Afaik "sexual favors" doesn't necessarily mean sex itself, no? Perhaps they just agreed to blow him? No?

Do you honestly think it's more reasonable to think they willingly gave him a blowjob and then he raped them against their will, or that they had a liaison with him, that they now regret, or are trying to exact revenge for some other reason?

Well I hate to assume and speculate, just offering a different side to the story. Perhaps he drugged them in the food/drink that he offered?
This is a man that picks up people in need and wants "favors" in exchange for kind acts, I wouldn't put rape past him.

Er... I'd rather have someone paying for it than taking it, if you catch my drift. If he wanted to rape them, I don't think he would've invited two of them over at once and drugged them. You know, threesomes of course being more entertaining with the participants being lucid.
Too much wrong with this story for the sudden cries of rape to make sense.
Edit: Also, I'm under the impression that there must be some kind of familiarity between these three. Who in their right mind, in ZA, invites two homeless strangers over to their home unless it's not the first time they've done this?
