After that, you can go download NetBeans, and go through the java Hello World tutorial. If you can get through that, then you can google local programming schools. There are some decent online schools too, if you're not opposed the the idea

Programming is a vast desolate world where there's civilizations of different types of folks with odd agendas.
Visual Studio's VB.Net will be a good start. VB reads easily if you have no programming background and it's powerful enough to do whatever you dream of. From there, a couple of tutorials online and a lot of time in the MSDN Library will have you coding in no time.
The best is to follow a book, because the writer will show how he came up with a solution or why he does things a certain way, which won't be on online tutorials.
