Hi all,

In my previous house, I had an ISDN line, with Multi Subscriber Numbers activated (Home phone and fax on different numbers). In the new house, I have ISDN again, but I need to program more numbers this time round (Home, fax and home office).

In all the docs I have, I only see how to program the analogue ports. How do you program the two digital ports?

Thanks

i never ever ever worked out how todo that on my old ISDN...

try phoning telkom

Dude/dudette, wtf are you smoking down there? Phone Telkom ... you insane or what? hehehe

On topic: I found MSN config in my modems devices in the Device manager, but it ain't working ... or I don't know if it is working :D I can't phone any of my numbers to test, as my notebook is connected to the port, and not a phone, and I can't remember how to configure my notebook to answer the phone. Oi, ekke useless!

Telkodemonopoly's useless and exorbitantly priced ISDN2a does not allow for more than one MSN# per ISDN2a line - despite the fact that the urethra boxes support up to 4 MSN#s - it's the usual story with Telkodemonopoly - there can be only one [useless telecoms company...]

Erm, sorry ic, but you are wrong ... I have my std number, plus 3 MSN's. First analogue port is running my default number and one of the MSN's (phoning either of those numbers makes the same phone ring). Second analogue is on another MSN connected to my fax.

Programming (assuming line number is (999) 555-0000 and MSN's 0001, 0002 and 0003

Lift Handset and enter
#*##*#, then for (must be done quickly or use the redial key) When you hear 2 beeps silence 2 beeps the whole time you are in the programming mode.
Port 1, Number 1: enter *11 *9995550000#
Port 1, Number 2: enter *12 *9995550001#
Port 2, Number 1: enter *21 *9995550002#

Check the second line, the bold number ... thats how you do it. Now I just need to program those damn Digital ports

ic, they might have changed it, I dunno, or you got some real dimwit on the phone. :) All I know is it worked in 2003, and it works now, so I am happy.

But still those freakin' digital ports!

Feedback from Aethra - Italy

Update: Seeing that noone in SA could give me an answer on the programming of the digital ports, I had a chat to Aethra in Italy.

The digital ports are transparent, so you can't program the ports. However, you can program the ISDN device connected to the port to accept a specific number's call.
My ISDN modem has a MSN settting, which I populated with the modem's number. I reckon there will be some setting/programming on the actual ISDN phone as well to program/set the MSN specific number for the phone.
