Hi Guys/Gals

So, I thought I will share my project of building a car that I will be using to enter into SA's drift nationals.

First the History.

To make a short story, long....it all started when I bought Need4Speed Underground 2. I popped it into my PS2 and started playing.

The first car you could buy in the game was a Nissan 240sx and I was totally in love with the cars sleek lines and the way it drove on in the game. Then I saw a few drifting vids at a cousins house and the same cars where used for drifting. I was instantly hooked with the ability to control something that is out of control. Its sorta like a Rodeo of motorsports.

After some research into drifting and all the money I saved up, it was time to buy my first car. I phoned dealership after dealership and asked for the cheapest rear wheel drive, turbo charged car. After about a month of phoning around I came across a company that specializes in coupes and they might have what I was looking for. So, I popped over and this was the place I was looking for. Old Ferraris, Mustangs, Porsches, Lancia Intergrales.

I was in motoring heaven that had a 80’s/90’s feel. All the sports cars of that era under one roof.

Well, before I continue with my story, a brief summary of the Nissan 240sx/200sx/180sx S13

Between 1989 and 1994 Nissan released a 2 door sports coupe that had different Names in different countries and each had various trim according to the market in that country. A quick break down below
US- Nissan 240sx (Slowest with a truck engine(real) to suit the Yanks need for big capacity engines)
Japan – Nissan 180sx (fastest 2.0 turbo)
Rest of the world – 200sx (Inbetween power 1.8 Turbo)

Back to my story...
So the hot blonde MILF sales lady showed me a few cars and thats when I saw the first 200sx in the corner of the showroom. Midnight Blue which was the same colour as my SX in Need 4 Speed.

It was an instant connection.

So, its time to drift....or so I thought. After a couple of doughnuts all the oil moved to one side and I ran bearings on the motor.
With the money I saved for my mag wheels I decided to repair it and drive it decently as it was my only mode of transport.

From that time 10 years ago to till about 2 and half years ago. Not a single problem and for about 2 years I was doing 5000km a month as work required it.

In 2011, I decided to change the engine and I started to collect parts. Once I had everything, I sent it to one of JHB’s top drift mechanics and he assembled it to my specification.

I got the car back about a few months ago and because I did everything at once instead of doing a few modifications at a time. It took me a while to learn how to drive it as it is a different type of fast.
After beating a few of the current flagship model cars and at the rate at which it increases to dangerous speeds coupled to the fact that I don’t have the wizardry of the newer vehicles in terms of safety, I’ve decided I will only enjoy this vehicle on a race track.

So, I would like to share my experience with you all...

Tonight, I will post pics of my grassroots beginning and how I got to where I am and then we can continue as I try to progress in the SA drift arena.

Thanks for reading..

Name of the dealership? I am in love with 80s/90s coupes and after selling my RX-7 I've been left with a gaping hole in my soul that needs filling...

This was 10 years ago and the have closed down.
The name of the company was called Drophead Coupes, maybe they moved. Think google might help.
