Projector Screen Daytime

For daytime viewing with average ambient lighting you need HIGH lumen output.

I use an Optoma UHD38 for 4K gaming on PS5. It is amazing value at ±R22,000, with a cheapie R4000 motorised screen. VERY watchable and playable during the day.

You only need a special (ALR) screen if you are using an ultra short throw projector which starts about R40K for a the decent UST projector and at least R10K for a decent ALR screen.

But I thought Lumens was important for a daytime outdoor projector ...
You are not going to find an acceptable outdoor daytime projector under R50K minimum... Even then it will be disappointing. For good daylight use indoor use you need tested, calibrated ±2500 lumens which would be marketed as about 4000 lumens like my UHD38.

Outdoor spec would be marketed as over 5000 lumens to give you required ±3500 in the shade with barely acceptable image quality.
