So..got a project due on Wednesday next week. Senior has been off for two weeks.

Problem 1 : Solution doesn't work the way it's supposed to as is.
Answer : I have a solution in mind that's been tested on my VM and is working.

Yay :) I can sleep easy knowing the project will be smooth sailing.

Now here's problem 2: Do I mention to the senior that I wont be using his solution? Got a demo with a PM and the technical consultant on Monday and the PM said he just wants to see something that works.

Do I fight my urge to sleep and try code the solution the way it I was told too or do my own thing ??

Help

There are a lot of ways to accomplish a particular task in programming. The approach normally has a lot to do with how it fits in the "big picture". Best to discuss it with the senior as he probably is also the architect. It could be that your code works now, but could cause problems in other areas. Could be he had a very valid reason for wanting it done a particular way.
