Has anyone used it?
I have been losing a considerable amount of hair recently and I've come to the depressing conclusion that I have inherited the male pattern baldness gene. Spent quite a bit of time over the last couple of weeks reading about various forms of treatment available ( I like my hair too much to consider shaving it all off atm.
)
Hair transplant seems to work quite well, as they take hair from the back of your head ( these hairs arent affected by the hair loss gene) and implant them on the areas that you have lost hair. But, you carry on losing hair that exist prior to the transplant. So, the doctors prescribe Finasteride (Propecia) which is the most effective drug out there that prevents further baldness. The drug blocks the hormone that causes hair loss. BUT, I suppose there is no miracle cure without any side effects. A small percentage of men who take the drug report various sexual side effects. From erectile dysfunction to low libido!
A lot the proponents of the drug claim its temporary but recently there have been guys who have suffered permanent side effects even after stopping the drug! Dont think its worth the risk, rather go bald then not have sex lol. But, many doctors still prescribe it and many have been taking it for years without any issues.
So, has anyone used it? Thoughts?
