Property Market in SA

So the lower the rates the higher the prices?

Yes. Follow private property or propery24... the lower the rates, the higher seller aim, as banks would lend more than needed or required.

If rates go up, it becomes more expensive... and you start to aim lower (as in selling price).

Look on private property (reduced R50k to R100K easily)

Think its time for guys who try and save to smile as well. Higher rates better interest on savings!

Don't think there will be a good time to sell anytime soon. Its downhill for the country for the next 10-15 years guaranteed. But if you not in a hurry. Put it on the market for the price you want and wait it out.
So best thing I guess to do is just stay in your current property and pay any extra you have into it.

Only you smiling my friend. That makes us all happy.

When rates started to drop in 2020.... I wasnt smiling. Everyone was... paying less interest. Now the opposite is happening, now I smile.

Wait till tomorrow to get posts “how dare they put it up again”.

Follow the US as an example. They increased their rates. Ours cant be lower than theirs. We are a 3rd world country vs 1st world.

One good thing about rates going up also. Landlords can ask higher rental, as sellers aint flooding the market, which mean tenants would rather rent vs buy (as they are to scared to commit in having a bond, and rates climb and climb)

You're starting to sound like some kind of reeeeee shrill property magnate. All the exclamation marks, all the "advice", all the "analysis".... look, we get it, you have some properties and you rent them out. Cool, good for you.

Anyways, you do you.

Monopoly is a funny game, if you don't buy the property when you land on it, you will probably pay rent on it when you land on it the next time....
