Cape Town - England captain Andrew Strauss said on Thursday that he believed South Africa's claims about ball tampering during the third Test at Newlands were "malicious".

The South Africans made it known they had drawn the attention of match referee Roshan Mahanama to an alleged changing of the condition of the ball but did not make an official complaint.

Damn this English team pisses me off. They've been nothing but unsporting during this whole tournament.

How in the hell did they get reverse swing after 15 overs? Push it, Strauss, push it. Maybe they will review it and punish England.

That being said, and as much as Australia are our biggest rivals in cricket, Ricky Ponting is nothing if not a gentlemen. I respect Australia, mainly because they're good and have no reason to cheat.

England and Strauss on the other hand can sod off back to that sullen rainy little island.

It's not just what he says, but he has a punch-me face. Same with Broad. I think that's what irritates me more.

And what about Trott and his time wasting? Boucher looks like he's about to give him and almighty klap at any given point.

The question still begs why an official complaint was not made? I think it only fair for Eng to fight back the claims made by the media and SA. This hype from Strauss is probably a good way to see if SA are serious about making a complaint.

The whole bunch of them were wasting time. I'm waiting to see what action will be taken for their pathetic over rate of 10 overs per hour in our 2nd innings.

If nothing is done about that then we all know who the authorities are siding with.

I wonder how they can argue against TV evidence?

It reminds me of that time a few years ago on Carte Blanche where they showed ADT guards pilfering the house that they were called to. When Carte Blanche show the accused, they denied they were on TV and claimed it was 'someone else' on the CCTV camera! :D

hahaha I remember that one, flip that was hilarious "eish, that is not me, you are putting someone else there"

As for Strauss, he should shut his mouth. Its funny how sky keep talking about it, but never show the incedent because its quite blatent what was happening there.

Fortunately in this instance there is a much smaller, shall we say "sample group" to choose from. Unless it was one of the spectators, eh Stuart?

The proteas felt the match referee would do the right thing and report it. They forgot who the match referee's best friend is and that reporting his boy is just a no no.

Nasser Hussain and Michael Vaughan have said broad and england are very lucky to get away with this. That really says all there needs to be said. If two respected english captains feels he did try to change the ball then its pretty clear.

Two English players I do respect. It seems the ex-pats are out to prove some sort of point.

broad has been a cvnt this entire series. He thinks he is special or something, questions every single decision agianst him. He even went to go fight it out with the 3rd umpire after he walked up to the pavillion.

what a d00s
