Hi,

I'm of to the dumps soon to work at a site where a new mine is constructed.

Data sharing is usually via USB memory stick.

Unfortunately the USB transmitted viruses are rife, and my stick goes bad many times a week (repair by Linux)

Is there a way tot protect a USB stick from getting infected without having to depend on the other person's virus protection?

Try and buy a stick that is U3 compatible. (They are bringing out a new version - not sure when). That way you can run an antivirus program to scan the host.

You could take a Linux LiveCD with you and boot into Linux to copy files from HDD to 'USB memory stick' - perhaps overkill and time-consuming on a slow machine, but it would eliminate the ability of viral infection as long as this procedure is followed religiously...
