Public Protector Thuli Madonsela has received the information she requested to complete the Nkandla report, her office said on Wednesday.

"The Public Protector Adv Thuli Madonsela confirms that she has received information she had requested to complete her investigation into allegations of improper conduct and maladministration relating to security installations and upgrades at the private residence of President [Jacob] Zuma in Nkandla," Madonsela's spokeswoman Kgalalelo Masibi said in a statement.

"The responses received from the party will be analysed and integrated into the provisional report.

"On conclusion of the provisional report, the Public Protector will share it with affected parties with a view to solicit their comments."

Last month, Madonsela told reporters that she was still waiting for outstanding information, and that she had given "the party concerned" until September 30 to provide the information.

Madonsela's report is expected to shed light on the more than R200 million spent refurbishing Zuma's private homestead at Nkandla in KwaZulu-Natal.

I wonder which way this report is going to go we all know it was a corrupt mess but will the report say as much.

Prejudging it I see. Not willing to accept any outcome other that it is corrupt, regardless of the findings. White South Africa's favourite trick.

I absolutely believe there was corruption or maladminstration involved, but leave open the possibility that there wasn't

If you as me.....

There will be indications of money that was overspend or wrongfully spent but it will be attributed to some or other low level government individual who did not follow due process and who has already been fired [with a golden handshake] and that they, in future, will make sure to follow due process...

end of story, move on....

Agreed, R200M for a house seems very reasonable.

Why did you need to bring race into it? And generalise?

How is it a white thing? It's funny to make jokes about white people complaining because it's a stereotype, but the entire south africa has no faith in this

The definition of 'absolutely' in this context precludes 'possibility'

How can you absolutely believe but leave a possibility that you are wrong? I think this comment was not called for.

Sure. Let us also leave open the possibility that Nkandla is a ranch for free range unicorns. *facedesk*

Minister Thulas Nxesi says he "will not play politics" over the DA's court bid forcing his department to reveal its report about upgrades to Nkandla.

A Democratic Alliance court bid for a report on the upgrade of President Jacob Zuma's Nkandla homestead is about scoring political points, Public Works Minister Thulas Nxesi said on Tuesday.

"I have said that on matters of the president's security, I will not play politics," he said in a statement.

DA parliamentary leader Lindiwe Mazibuko approached the high court in Cape Town on Monday for an order overturning Nxesi's decision to classify the report detailing the over R200-million security upgrade to Zuma's private KwaZulu-Natal homestead.

The report was currently before Parliament's joint standing committee on intelligence (JSCI).

Nxesi said the proof that the DA had a political agenda was it citing Zuma as the third respondent in the matter. This was despite Mazibuko conceding that she did not seek any relief from Zuma.

"The truth is that the DA is so obsessed with the president to such an extent they cannot differentiate between their own narrow political interest and the public interest," he said.

He said the only conclusion to be drawn was that the DA had an eye on the 2014 elections.

'Petty political battles'

Nxesi said the report was presented to the JSCI – a multiparty committee, which includes representatives of opposition parties including the DA. The DA was also aware that public protector Thuli Madonsela would be releasing her report into the upgrade soon, he said.

"Perhaps the DA fears that once her report is tabled, the opportunity will disappear for publicity stunts such as this latest approach to the courts."

Nxesi said Mazibuko and the DA should stop abusing the courts to try and "win petty political battles".

"That has nothing to [do] with the public interest. The electorate cannot be fooled by a minority party that does not have their interests at heart."

He released the findings of the Nkandla task team in January, which found irregularities in the procurement process for the upgrade. The team recommended further investigation by authorities such as the Special Investigating Unit and auditor general.

"The task team said that should they [the authorities] find unlawful wrong-doing, then the law enforcement agencies must ensure that the culprits face the full might of the law." – Sapa

Hurrr durr, Thulas.

It isn't. And there were probably shenanigans going on.
But people claiming that the PP or Courts are great when they affirm their beliefs, but are also corrupt when they don't, that is your typical attitude amongst south africans

With all your glaring contradictions, this comment only serves to illustrate how confused you are....

Seemingly, yeah

So since we're generalising, what is it that the black folks do? Maintain a perfectly balanced, objective outlook on anything and everything, come what may? LOL. If that were true, we wouldn't have this thieving numbskull twat of a president in the first place!

(apologies to all you level-headed, thinking black people out there)

Heard on the radio they still call it 'security upgrades' .. what, they making his cows patrol at night now?
