Protest erupts over land invasion

JOHANNESBURG- Land invasion seems to be the main reason for a protest that erupted in Lawley south of Johannesburg on Wednesday morning.

Protesters barricaded roads and burnt tyres, calling on government and police to stop land invasion in Ennerdale. The protesters said the land that shack dwellers have invaded belonged to them as the government promised to develop it.

Scores of shacks have been built on the land and the shack dwellers are standing their ground and refuse to leave.

Yep, groups with whom ‘said to be believed’ promises were made by the government, who have bought ‘yet to be developed’ houses on which other groups are moving in.

Well in that case it’s bloody hilarious and I’m happy they are getting a taste of their own medicine.

Without true ownership this will be the norm going forward as at any one time someone else will just be able to decide now it’s their turn.
