Hi. The price of shipping is 132 US and they use DHL so the price is worth it. Must pay customs though still (135) and 14% vat so it adds a little to the price but still a hell of a lot cheaper than a local equiv. I dont work in rands though as my bank account is foreign and this was def cheaper for me. Thought i would like to post here and let fellow geeks know there are alternatives out there. :)

Screen res is horrible for a high level Laptop.

1366 x768 D:

Must be a typo, surely.

I must say their cpu pricing is not really great though.

Cheaper to buy it here. I guess though cpu's are small and cheap to import :D.

Lol @ this only just saw .. it also had USB3.0
yes the resolutiion not the best but I need processing power.

I think I may be able to do virtual hosting and run games on top of the virtual box even :P
Here is a more detailed spec sheet.

I thought I would like to add that xoticpc.com also ship to SA and are cheaper but use nomral post so would not count on the product arriving.

Any news on the laptop? I am planning on purchasing one from provantage around March, if finances allow for it.

provantage gives a weak overview of the laptop and I had already placed my order there by the time I found out that xoticpc(alos ship to SA) offer a better price AND allow you to customize them. provantage has stated on my order that I can expect it to shup on the 10th of Feb. None of the retailers that will be shipping it seem to have it yet but here is a forum that will contain most reviews , benchmarks and most current info on all these asus latops. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=451714&page=6

Provantage offers cheaper shipping than exotic PC though, so I don't think you really lost out. I have my eye on the K52JR-A1. Would like your one, but it's a tad too expensive for me unfortunately!
