I purchased a ps4 on 13 December 2013 (Launch Date). I have now had it for a bit more than a month and the rubber on my left analog stick on the controller keeps tearing. I am now down to my 4th controller (soon to be 5th).

I keep returning the controllers and they exchange it without question, but my issue is, what happens after the 1 year warranty?

I have emailed Sony to complain about this, but they just responded by sending me a link to their forums containing a bunch of people complaining about the same issue, but no solution is forthcoming!

I really think this is poor form from sony. They need to admit to the problem and then bring out a decent controller which lasts. I never had this issue with the PS3

Four controllers??? You sure that you're not being a bit too aggressive with it? Mine has been fine...

I don't play aggressively at all. I dont even play that much. Like I said, I had no issues with the ps 3 controllers. There are a lot of people with the same issue. I just don't know what to do anymore

Just read up a bit and it seems like they just covered over the surface of the stick with a rubber layer, instead of building the entire stick out of it.

Do your hands perspire a lot while playing? I perspire very little, so it's the only thing I can think of...

I have a couple of friends over often to play, so its not just me using the controller, but regardless, 1 month= 4 controllers is utterly unacceptable.

I know this is a known issue...but four controllers? Jeez.

I've got two and they are both pristine and I feel like I've played more PS4 than I've played Xbox 360 and PS3 combined in the last year.

My PS4 is also fine.

Methinks you're working that knob a bit too hard.

There's no way a he's abusing his controller.
So many ppl have played hours and hours already with no issues.

I am not abusing the controller. I take good care of my ps4 as I have with my ps3. Do you honestly think I would pay R900 for a controller and then abuse it? I play fifa and COD, mostly only weekends. (the only games I have at present.)

The controller thing is a well known issue. I might have had a bad batch or something, but is a really irritating issue.

Its a well known issue, you might just want to buy additional 3rd party replacements and replace the knobs.

Just realised that the thread is filled with sentences that could take on alternate meanings...

Really really poor from PS4. Surely they could have picked up on this before it was released
