Hi

I have recently got a ps2, and would like to play ps1 games. ONe of the games work, but only works sometimes. Is there a way to ensure that at least most of ps1 games will work? (it is modded)

Also, I've downloaded a couple of ps2 games, zipped them, then burned the ISO to disk, but when i put the disk in the ps2 either goes to the "memory card" screen or just goes black

what could be wrong? Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

Me

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I successfully unzipped and burned two ISO's already, onto dvd's - which work perfectly?

Ok about the Usage of Ps1 games.Heres a little trick to make it work on the ps2.

make sure its on and the light in the front is red. Then proceed to press the button rapidly 3 times. It should then start up and it will run the ps1 game.

The Iso thing i really dont know it always worked for me when i download games.

Try downloading from Wares bb using filehosts.

Thank you so much. Will try the button thing... :-)

I've heard of Wares, is it like Emule? and what are filehosts?
Sorry if this is a stupid question...

I normally use Bittorrent...is Wares better?

Thankyou

No wares are when people post links to files they uploaded to file hosts like rapidshare ,hotfile, fileserve ect.

It is normally spilt into pieces eg 200meg ,1gig.You also have to wait between 10min to 30mins between each download and only can download 1 file at a time unless you buy premuim with the company. But it normally always runs at full line speed and its much faster i believe than bittorrent and the isp will never know what you downloading.

Go make a account at

www.warez-bb.org

oh ok. Thank you so much. I will definately do that :-)

one more thing...if you dont mind. I notice the ps2 slimline has 'usb" ports. can I put the ISO on to a USB stick and then play the game off there, just to see if it works, then burn it to a disk? i've wasted about 20 dvd's on the games that dont work :-(

Thank you once again for all your assitance

Honestly with the time, DVDs and bandwidth wasted wouldn't it be better to have just bought original games? They range from like R99 to R199 also if the PS2 is modded perhaps there is a problem with the chip that is preventing it from playing PS1 games. On a non modded PS2 I never had problems playing PS1 games.

I guess so. I will take a look around for some games. :-) Can I put games on a usb stick as asked in my previous post?

Thank you to all for the advise

I am not entirely certain, never had a modded PS2 before :-( perhaps find out what chip is in the PS2 and go from there. Did you buy it second hand and get it modded yourself or was it modded when you purchased it?

I bought it second hand, already modded ? Im too scared to just try and do it in case the memory stick damages the ps2 software?

I doubt sticking in a flash drive will do any harm, my googlefu does show some results whereby you can play games off the USB ports in ISO format, I'd get the mod chip checked out though, as PS1 games should work out of the box for the PS2.
