Hi there, I am about to buy a PS2 slim. I would like to know if I chip it what would it be able to do like will I be able to download games or something?

Can't really speak for the ps2, but I've read chipped ps3 can download custom apps that make u run entire game images u have downloaded off the net like they were discs, with the drawback of not being able to go on PSN tho for obvious reasons

That's taking me back a few years. Can you even get games for the PS2 anymore.

Memory is a bit hazy now but check out mcboot.

Yep. You can download games and write them to disc. Then they will work. Done this plenty with my PS2.

Mind you...think I should sell it.

Subs

Only reason, Tourist Trophy and Gran Turismo 4

Although I bet you any money they'll feel horrible now that we are used to things like Assetto Corsa and Project cars

Do you say the same to those running all the older consoles games like from NES 64? Because there are some fantastic games on them

@MILAN14 if you have a lekker beefy PC might I suggest PCSX2? its a emulator to run PS2 games on PC.

Is use to play the wrestling game on PCSX2 in 2011.
My specs was: cpu : i7-930
memory: 6gb ddr3
gpu: GTX 460 1gb

Not a beefy PC by today standards.

Not by today's standards no but we can safely assume the OP is not a enthusiast and probably owns a old ddr2 p4 rig if that
