Does anyone know off a PS2 emulator that works?

I have googled it and it seems that PCSX2 0.9.1 is the best. (http://www.pcsx2.net)

Anyone successfully playing games like tekken on this?

Regards

generally yes, but some games, like Tekken on PS2 arent out for PC and are classic.

But I wouldnt waste my time on one, and they have endless problems..

Guilty Gear X works quiet well, but the speed is less than stellar. Tried on 4800+ at 2.6GHz and 7900GTX, but was getting 23~28fps max at 640x480 :(

I could be wrong, but I think the reasoning for that is the PS2 being 128Bit. I saw a graph in an NAG mag a few months back comparing PS3, PS2 and PC. And it showed the memory bandwidth of the PS2 higher than the PC...anyway not really sure lol, but PS2 games tend to run slow on PC emulators. N64, MAME, SNES, Genesis, GBA all pretty much run they way they do on console

Its not that PS2 is more powerfull, its just the nature of emulators, I remember having a PS1 emulator and it hardly worked on my old PC.

and PS1 was 133Mhz..

Yeah it isn't really related to how powerful the PS2 is or not. The emulators are just not efficient at running the titles. The Dynamic recompilers are less than optimal and if you look at Naomi emulation, it was and still is also per game as emulating the hardware entirely is rather difficult seeing as Sony will not let out about their white papers etc...

Devil May Cry3, Onimusha3, Metal Gear Solid 2:Substance, Chaos Legion etc... are all PS2 titles which were converted to PC exactly (along with the low texture sampling, low texture resolution etc...) which work well on a Pentium3 with a GeForce256.

I'm sure eventually all the useful games will get a conversion save for GranTurismo and some others, which would look much better on the PC and load faster
