Well i bought my PS2 a while ago, before i got my ADSL, then i remembered the PS2 had a network socket for online gaming, so I read the documentation and found i had to register online to receive a special network cd for the PS2, and once i've got that and run it in the PS2, I can then hook it up to my ADSL router, and play some of the games online.

I was wondering has anyone else in south africa done this?
Does it even actually work?

I have the older and larger ps2 so I ordered a network adapter that clips onto the back of my ps2.

I ordered one last week from Amazon to be delivered to relatives overseas and they've forwarded on to here so it should be arriving sometime soon. The newer ones have it built in I believe but decided to keep the old one until the PS3 comes out next year.

It should work if you've got everything set up correctly - I hope so at least! :)

I have both my PS2 and Xbox linked up via ADSL for on-line play. I posted a little how-to over at Prophecy some time last year. I'm using ADSL unshaped, but have also played with basic ADSL, and both work pretty good. Basic ADSL works better at night, unshaped 24 x 7.

well SOCOM 2 couldnt get the username registered :(
but tony hawk underground works great :)
no NETORK ACCESS DISK NEEDED

Still waiting for my network adapter - should be any day now . . .

how longs it been, i'm still waiting for my network access disk, although i dont really need it!
