PS3 Also ?

This has now become the "why I might like the Wii" thread...ugh...and I don't see why people who are pc gamers should feel obliged to comment here, because it started off as a console discussion...

I don't like pc gaming...I prefer a joystick/pad...the other problem for me is that high end gaming pc's cost an arm and a leg and if you are not tech savvy, you might even brake it...so I don't take a cheap shot at pc gamers, but I would like to see how console gamers face up to pc gamers in a fps faceoff....now that console gamers are getting more and more practise through online gaming, there is this nagging question...is the joystick more powerfull than the keyboard and mouse?

I really don't think it matters though, because we both like games...
I guess the bottom line is that pc gamers should not make comments on consoles they do not own or haven't played on before, because that makes you a pc fanboy...and we don't like fanboys!

Do yourselves a favour, pick up a 360 and play Halo 3 or Gears of War for a couple of minutes....I think that it will change your perception of console gaming... :)

I just don't think that as far as next gen consoles go, the Wii offers anything close capability wise to the other two....the fact that 10mil people have it does not make it a next gen console...Ninty has found a untapped market (family gaming) and it's cheaply priced (though not in SA)..that should account for the numbers..

LOL. GFX whore. The ps3 and xbox are just their predecessors on steriods. What's so next gen about "let's just release our old console with better gfx? it'll roxxors."?

The tacked on feeling of some wii games is the developers fault and yours for not reading reviews before buying your game.

I have Metroid 3. It is amazingly fun game. I can't put it down. I'm getting Zak and Wiki next week and Super Mario galaxy too. Once you actually play some proper games instead of the ps2 ports on the wii you'll be addicted to the wii.
The reason the wii was brought into the discussion is because the wii is very different from the xbox or ps3.

if you had to compare the ps2 and ps3, but take gfx out the equation they'd be almost exactly the same. Same with the 360. Meaning they aren't next gen. They are just upgrades of the previous console.

Now back to the OP. He already has a 360. Which means no need for a PS3.

If he get's a wii and stays away from the flood of ps2 ports he'll love it. I know I love mine and before my wii I was a pc only gamer.

And no. I didn't get the wii for family fun. My family irritates me. I got my wii because it's the only next gen console. If i want gfx I've got my pc.

The wii just owns everything, with the right games of course.

PC Gamers can comment too, because If you hadn't realized some PC Gamers have consoles? Or is that too alien for you to understand?

I still feel that if you consider the Wii nextgen because of the wiimote, then you should consider the ps2 with singstar, a lightgun and golf glub attachment next gen as well. :D

Don't get me wrong, the Wii's got some fun games and keeps me entertained when I play it and I would have bought one already if it wasn't for the price and lack of any games I'd like to play(at the moment). And I avoid anything Mario related like the plague.

Yes, why is that?? If pc outright demolishes consoles, then why bother with both? If you have a pc and a console and you diss the console, you are an idiot...

Cos you have just seen me dissing consoles all the time? I like consoles, I don't think you can compare a PC to Console because they are different platforms. I would not play FPS' on a console because the controls are not accurate enough and most FPS' on consoles have an inbuilt auto-aim. I would on the other hand not play games like Crash Bandicoot and such on a computer because it feels crap with a keyboard and sitting behind a desk. I think I am offering some perfectly fair arguments. You on the other hand are being :sick:.

Go to Gamespot, take a look at the highest scoring games on both platforms...nuff said..the other platforms have better games...what's to argue about?

Btw....stop trying to defend the Wii....you don't see anyone defending the 360 or even ps3 for that matter...they speak for themselves..

I think the SA Wii fanboys are just a little bit jealous of the 360 and PS3 fanboys. I mean we've been having a lekker barney for the last year or so while they've been holding their TV remotes going "Wiiiiiii!" praying for the day they can get one.

Now that they're here, the rest of us are trying to make peace and they're just looking to get started. ;)

I love these debates, such passion! I don't game but if I did- and based on what I've read and arguments from MyADSL- I think I'd get the xbox over the PS3 and the wii over them both.

The only way the Wii will be over them both is if you use it as a decorative lighting ornament...lol

Harsh. Give the Wii credit, atleast its innovative. PS3 and Xbox 360 are lounge computers. :D, but I would probably buy an Xbox cos Sony are a bunch of freaks and the Wii gives me bladder problems. :p
