Hi guys

So I have an interesting problem. I purchased a Bluetooth headset from takealot and I love listening to music on it from my phone.

Then I thought if I hook it up to PS3, it will make first person shooters more immersive. So I connected it and it works and also detects the mic.

But the issue is that it doesn't stream the in game sounds. After some reading, it seems like the headset can only be used for multiplayer chat which is pointless.

So now I have to come up with a workaround. Currently the audio is going to my non smart TV via HDMI. I checked and my TV has a 3.5mm audio out.

The 2 options I can come up with is
1. Get a 3.5mm to Bluetooth audio transmitter
2. get an android box that has a mic in input and Bluetooth and use that and have the added benefit making the TV a smart TV.

So a few questions,
1. Have any of you guys managed to get a Bluetooth headset to work with a PS3?
2.Any other suggestions to get the audio to the headset wirelessly?
3. Can anyone recommend a cheap Bluetooth transmitter or android box.

Thanks in advance

I got a cheap bluetooth transmitter from banggood or aliexpress - mpow something or other. It works pretty well for my father in law, who uses it to listen to the TV through his hearing aid receiver. If you want details, I can dig for them.

Please... if you don't mind. I would really love to know which one works well

Sure, will see what I can find. The main thing is that most Bluetooth audio adapters are receivers, rather than transmitters.

They also almost all have batteries, and some don't work while charging, which is a pain in the arse!

You can also get Bluetooth audio modules, which are intended to be incorporated into a larger system, so they typically come without e.g. a convenient power source.
