PS3 Blueray died - New or refurbished?

So the new blue ray unit came today. Installed it and the PS3 works again as it should. Partserve wanted R1400 for a refurb unit. I bought a new replacement part from eBay @ $24 and paid R30 import duty. Saved about R1150 by doing it myself.

And no need for that tub of vaseline.
