Hi there I recently bought a PS3 and considering having it 'chipped' in order to play copied games etc, I would just like to know what are the risk or chances of damaging my console and is 'jailbreak' different to 'chipping'? Also read something about a USB being used not sure. Just need advice please

Not really familiar with chipping in the space but I do know that the process usually entails plugging a device on one of the chips and then replacing its software with a copy of it but with a difference, u can install unofficial software, including apps to run game images. Essentially jailbreaking it

You've come to a tech forum and basically just asked how you could illegaly play games? Don't be one of those guys, if you want games go to a cash crusaders/converters and pick them up, they're like R59 to R99 most of the times. Yes the publisher doesn't get the money any longer but at least you've not gone and pirated the game.

Thank you. Don't think I'm going to go with it though the potential risk of the console becoming faulty and not being able to use is too high.
