The codecs already exist (DivX HD, and a new quicktime format, forget what it is called now). The problems are with hardware: it takes way too long to encode, and even playback chows a good deal of CPU power. The other thing is, a movie will become a hell of a lot larger: somewhere in the region of 5-6GB depending on the quality and all. So a movie will eat up approximaatly double a normal ADSL account. Nice. good going Telkom. You are joining the global fight against piracy.

I doubt this is a PAL ps3. Extremely doubt it. But then again it won't be such an issue, as games are region free, not to sure about movies tho.. Wonder if they include a US to SA power adapter...

More like the 3GB range for 720p using x264, DivX HD would only ruin your movie watching experience as for quicktime, yowza, won't even go there... :D

Anyone see those articles on Tomshardware where a person actually paid $20000 for a the PS3. Personally I wouldn't mind winning that console just to sell it to some idiot american. Honestly they have far to much money to know what to do with it!
