Where could I find the cheapest PS3 or Xbox controller?

I want to use it with my Nexus 10 and read reviews about how it works without having to root the device.

Problem is I don't have a PS3 or Xbox. And the generic ones don't work. Don't want to spend too much money on it - just that I do have a few games on my Nexus that will really be great with a controller.

Also, silly question to ask, but does the controllers come with a usb cable or do you need to buy one separately? They say that a PS3 wired controller works without rooting, but wireless you need to root. Don't want to root my device - not yet anyway.

Thanks so long

I didn't even know you could use an Xbox controller. So are you looking for an official controller? PS3 ones are effin expensive between R700-R800 so your best bet would be to get it second hand.

Yes, the controller works just fine plugged in without rooting. Unfortunately they are expensive, even on special at Makro etc. they're like R600. Not really worth it if you don't have a console.

Maybe it's time I got a console :)

Saw some awesome PS3 specials up lately - all for about R2000 or so. If the controller itself is R700 +, it might be worthwhile to get one. Kids would love it

The XBox 360 wireless PC controller can be had for R400 at BT Games and Makro.

You can't do much with 12GB of space :erm: Go for the one thats a little more expensive 250/500GB its worthwhile.

Does it really matter which PS3 I get? I see there's different models?

The only difference between them are the Hdd space. I think the SSD models might work like the XBox where most of the files stay on the Disc. I might be wrong though.

No stock PS3 uses SSD's the 12GB uses flash memory like the internal memory on a cellphone.

So, I'm the new proud owner of a PS3. So no gaming on the Nexus anymore - will game on the tv now ;)

I managed to get a PS3 12GB (not much memory) with one controller and a game for R1999. Was the last one they had left (BT Games). Got a couple of games as well (pre-used games). Spent about R2600 and I've got four games! :)
