PS3 exploit released

great for homedrew .. but we all know what it leads up to .. piracy.
.. yeah, maybe the blank blurays are expensive, but you will just end up having to insert an extern drive with the images on.
ah well, lets see what happens.

Ye I miss those PS2 games man!

But I heard some time back that Sony is gonna have the entire PS2 back catalogue for download on the PSN network.

george holt did confirm in a comment he left that this is indeed a full hack ! so why are so many comments left doubting this ? they should put this to good use and ship out a working "chip" asap ! i think the chip will actually help sony because alot of people will wanna play ps2 games, unless ofcourse they by the pirated ps2 games and not the original :)

Just a matter of time then we will all be having 2tb drivers full of digital piracy:D.
I downloaded the exploit ...all i need now is a ps3:Dand linux ..naaa to complicated .............windows i love you

What I'd be interested in seeing is if future firmware updates disable the ability to install alternative OSes on the old PS3s.

Surely Sony could have opened things up a bit more (I've been crying about this since the PSP...so just ignore my blabbering since it was broken anyway). I mean if their encryption is on top of things and they're sure about blu-ray then just allow people to create a few useful apps/games that are free to download or even purchasable via the PSN or a similar service? I imagine in the long run that would have done more good for the PS3 than harm (PROVIDED of course that they still had a handle on preventing piracy...where the PSP kinda failed a little). I love the PS3 but I hate the fact that we have this uber cell powered beast that will only run these proprietary apps (for those that aren't linux fundies).
