Why are imported games from the US or Japan cheaper than South Africa? So Sony SA jack up the prices?

As far as I know, distribution for PS3 is handled by Ster Kinekor - of course they need their pound of flesh too...

It's got nothing to with that. Both those other countries you mentioned are ntsc countries, while sa(and europe) is pal. All the console manufacturers screw over the pal territories.

It's when the game prices are out of tune with uk pricing can you blame Ster Kinekor.
