Hi there
I just picked up a 40GB PS3 yesterday and started to read around on the net about it.
I read that, for Blu-Ray movies to output at HD, the PS3 has to be conncted via HDMI to a HDCP Compliant TV/Display
I have a Panasonic TH-50PHD7 50" Plasma Display with no HDMI input (although this module can be purchased). I dont think that HDMI module is HDCP Compliant though, although im sure the DVI-I Module is.
It does have Component input, but i understand that in order to get HD output from Blu-ray movies on the PS3, it has to be connected via HDMI / DVI.
How would i go about connecting the PS3 to my Plasma in order to get HD quality movies?
Would it just be a case of purchasing this DVI-I Module (which is HDCP Compliant), and a HDMI to DVI-I cable?
That cable is fskin expensive though!! Would this HDMI to DVI-I adapter with a Male to Female DVI-I Cable do the same job?
At the moment, the PS3 is connected via the provided SD cables. I was thinking about buying HD cables, but then realised, i should figure out a solution that would allow me to get HD output from Blu-Ray also im if going to go HD..
Apparently the current Blu-ray's havent implemented this HDCP "Copyright" just yet, but i want to be ready for when they do (if they havent already)
Would appreciate any suggestions / input
Thanks
