ok so i don't have internet (yet) and i want to buy tekken 5 at the psn shop thingy, my cousin offered to download it for me and save it on his pc (he has a 345kb adsl line i think so not sure ho long the download will be)

my question is will i be able to copy the file off his pc and load it on my ps3 ?
will it play like a normal game off my hdd or do i need to give him my ps3 to download the game directly on it ???

thanks in advance

I don't think you can use a PC to download and then load it to the PS3. You require that the PS3 be linked to PSN to load it on the PS3. What you can do is take your PS3 to your cousin's place and download it there.

ya i think that might be the easiest way then. thanks

i actually went looking for the game at different shops this past weekend only to be told it availble on download only ! thats sucks for those of us who don't have the net at home :(

As far as I'm aware you can't access the PSN through a PC - only a PS3.

Best just to wait for the game to release - less than a month to go, not so bad:)

You can get him to download the pkg using ps3proxy. You will then goto his house, connect to PSN without the proxy, start downloading it, pause it, then route the download url to the already downloaded pkg file and you should be able to pull the thing quite quickly.

End of the day though you'll need to connect your PS3 to the internet to download either way, the way I have suggested will probably save you both more time. Also if he has anyway of swapping from interneational to local bandwidth you can start the download of the pkg file using international bandwidth and then swap it over to local bandwidth to complete it.

In this day and age, you should get the internet. Bandwidth prices are on ok levels. I got a Telkom 3G 2gig account for R349 a month. No rental fees, no contracts. You can pick up the 1gig for R219.00. All you need is to buy the modem outright. It is just my opinion. :)

You need international to be able to purchase the game from the psn network store but once the game starts downloading you can switch to local only bandwidth.

Yip another problem you will have is you will probably be asked to do the forced Firmware download first aswell, unless you download that on a pc and then save it to a mem stick to install on the ps3.

If you going to get internet soon, you might as well wait for Tekken 6 which should be released very shortly... Purchase the disc and get the updates off PSN instead.
