Hi guys just want to find out would a PS3 play very well on a full hd lcd computer screen or is it a waste of time to buy 1

How big is this screen and do you already have one you are playing on which is of similar size (but not will HD)?

If the screen is HDCP compliant and has a DVI port then its totally worth it. Just be sure to get a HDMI to DVI converter, if the monitor has a HDMI port then normal HDMI cable will just as good.
I'm running my PS3 off a Samsung 2333sw and its Beautiful :D

Same here - running off a Samsung 2333sw through HDMI to DVI converter and it looks great.

If I may, how do you get the sound to work wrt the HDMI? Does one still need to connect the sound cable to an amplifier or surround sound system?

HDMI provides audio and visual so if your TV/Monitor has speakers on it then the HDMI cable will provide both tou your TV set. If you want better sound then I suggest using the Optical audio out of the other Scart output to connect to the amp. If you running the HDMI to DVI cable then you'd have to do this regardless.

Thanks for the info, seems to be so much clearer in my head now. Here comes the HDMI for my Xbox too now.
