PS3 slim out on thursday?

woolies and game advertising it for R3799. the people at woolies told me it'll be in stock on thursday.

The game advert mentioned "stand alone console". what does that mean? no controller?

It comes with the DS3 controller. By 'stand-alone' I think they mean it's not a bundled deal that comes with games, an extra controller, and such.

That would suuuuuuuuuuuuuck! I think it means no games and no stand for the console.

I saw the new slim PS3 in Berlin on the weekend. Was selling for 299 Euro's, which is about R3300,- so our local pricing aint that bad. Looks like a very nice and compact unit, but felt very heavy for its size, just about the same weight as the normal size PS3.

They were also having specials on all the Guitar Hero equipment, but that was a bit too big too bring back. ;-)

do you have names of any stores in germany i can go check out for a ps3?
might be going there in december, so was thinking if they having some specials ill get me one

Their LCD's and plasma's are also cheaper than here, but i found that the price difference between the top end and bottom end was alot smaller than in sa

i see hi-fi corp is selling the 120gb slim ps3 for R3800, still to much i think. Considering i just bought a 20gb xbox for R600.

I think i'd still prefer the old ps3 because it looks better, and it looks like a monster standing there. the new one looks like its made from plastic (wouldn't be surprised) and it just looks cheap.

The old one is also made of Plastic, just do not look/say "Made in Hong Kong" on the plastic.
