Since a lot of people hate it when a million threads are made about the same thing, I decided to make a thread where people can post all the news and evidence of Firmware 2.40.
Rumored Contents of Firmware 2.40
* In-game XMB (no one knows what this is limited to, but so far we have heard that all friends features, music, and throphies are accessible)
* Custom Soundtracks (I know I said music is accessible during use of in-game XMB, but custom soundtracks means that the music will continue to play after you have resumed the game)
* 2-D Trophies (these will most likely be the same "challenges" as the achievements that 360 owners get)
* Date/Time in corner of XMB

Rumors of possible release dates
* Konami pushing Sony to get in-game XMB and trophies (firmware 2.40) out before MGS4, which is out JUne 12th.

* A guy, found in the comment section, of a video of in-game XMB, which was taken down, said that somone said in the comments that it was June 10th, which actually makes sense since it is before MGS4 and is on a Tuesday (this is when most updates are released).
