I need some assistance from someone who knows a bit more about how you can setup audio for the PS4.

I'm thinking of getting a PS4, but I'm a little stuck as to how to get the best audio setup for it out of the hardware I already have.
At present I have a Logitech Z506 5.1 Surround system that connects to my PC (3 x 3.5mm connectors). Link below shows what connections there are on it.

For the time being it will be connected to my pc monitor with HDMI (samsung P2770H), which only has one HDMI connection and one DVI connection (No audio connectors).
Soundcard in PC is a Asus Xonar DGX. I'm guessing its not possible to take a optical cable from the PS4, plug it into the sound card and then get the sound to go through the speakers.

I'd appreciate it if someone could give me some advice about this. Sorry if this is the wrong section for this post.

The PS4 does have optical out so it should be able to output to your ASUS xonar DCX.

Ok, but is it possible for me to plug into the optical of my xonar and then use the speakers that are connected to the same sound card?
I'm by no means a sound expert, so this kind of setup is still a bit confusing to me.

After thinking about it again, I'm pretty sure that my soundcard wouldn't accept the audio from the optic as input and still be able to use the same soundcard to output to the speakers.
As far as I know the optic port on the soundcard is only for output and not for input.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Does anyone know of a way to get sound from the PS4, to my PC and then out to the PC's speakers.
Otherwise does anyone know of a converter of some kind that could convert 3.5mm connectors to optical, or something like that?

Just use a good headset that's all.

Yeah, I will for when I'm playing alone, but when friends come over it would be nice to be able to use speakers.
The only other alternative I have is to have 2 pairs of headphones.
